CR Fuels Inc.

Bio Village

The Facility

The initial Bio-diesel plant will be capable of initial production of 113.6 million/litres/yr (30 million/US/gal) using Canola seed as feedstock.

The Ethanol plant’s production of 95 million litres/Yr (25 million/US/gal) will primarily use wheat as feedstock, although will be equally capable of using corn.

The integrated facility will capture CO2 from the ethanol production process for use in a nearby enhanced oil recovery project.  This will result in approximately 40,000 tonnes annually of CO2 being geologically sequestered while helping to recover additional oil from Alberta’s limited reserves.

The Site

The Strathmore site is strategically located in the center of the wheat and canola producing areas of Southern Alberta.  Our unique location is adjacent to a large livestock feedlot that will allow for the sale of wet distillers’ grains to Cattleland Feedyards and other nearby operations, saving the company and the environment from burning additional natural gas to dry this ethanol byproduct.

In addition, the site is conveniently located adjacent to the CN rail Mainline, and has excellent accessibility to highways, allowing for easy transportation of feedstock and the product and co-products that are can be easily transported by truck.

A particular advantage to the CR Fuels plant is its proximity to tank storage in Southeast Calgary.  This tank storage serves as the southern distribution facilities for various companies, and serve the Calgary market and the rest of Alberta south to the U.S. border.  In addition, the site is conveniently located near a rail line and has excellent access to highways, allowing for easy transportation of feedstock, biofuels, and byproducts.
